Postage

Amazon, Half.com and Biblio all have their own postage fee structure, which might seem a bit high compared to the actual cost of mailing. We don't have any control over these fees and, in fact, don't get all of those postage fees. The website sales platforms keep some of the postage fee as part of their commission.

These one-size-fits-all fees work fine for most customers, but they can cause some confusion. For instance, "standard" media mail packages to Alaska, Hawaii and US protectorates take a long time to arrive. We will automatically upgrade to first class on small books such as mass market paperback when mailing to these distant locations. US residents outside the continental US who are in a hurry should plan on expedited mail (priority) for trade paperbacks and hardcovers. Similarly, for international sales, the flat Amazon fee is supposed to cover surface mailing, but we will automatically upgrade to Global Priority or Air Mail when feasible. Unfortunately, not all countries accept Global Priority, and some books are too large to mail this way.

In the case of multiple books orders, both Half.com and Biblio will charge less for each additional book. Amazon, however, charges the same postage fee for each book, which can add up to an excessive amount. There are various ways we can help you reduce these costs, but it is best to contact us in advance to let us know you’d like to order several books to be mailed at the same time to one address.

If you have any questions or concerns about postage fees, don't hesitate to email. We can work together to mail your orders in the most efficient, effective and least costly manner.
